7 Books Every Girlboss Should Read

bossgirl reads.pngAs much as curling up in a ball with a bag of Cheetos and binge-watching ‘The Crown’ sounds appealing and a fantastic plan, it is not exactly what a highly successful lady would do. No, I am not telling you what to do or how to live, but by far, every successful entrepreneur reads every day. Just 10 pages of a book, or one chapter. Self-improvement is a critical part of success and there is no better mentor than books written by fabulous people about fabulous things. Investing in yourself is the best way to get ahead and get motivated.

Here are 7 books, on self improvement, business and getting stuff done.

#1. Get Rich, Lucky Bitch! Release Your Money Blocks and Live a First Class Life By Denise Duffield Thomas

The inspiring book with a badass title and an equally badass writer is based on the law of attraction, as mentioned in book #3. It is to help women lose fear of money, become confident in their potential and reach new heights in their lives, more precisely, their professional lives. Denise is an Australian blogger, who is hilarious and business savvy and an absolute inspiration to up and coming entrepreneurs. This book is definitely something your bookshelf should hold.

#2. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People By Stephen Covey

An absolute business classic by Stephen Covey, an American educator and businessman, written in the 1930s and even after decades is one of the most popular business books written. Every big CEO and mogul has read this book. This book shows the importance of habits and it’s impact in your life, career and success. And this is not the first time someone may be recommending this book to you, it is a worldwide bestseller after all.

#3. The Secret By Rhonda Byrne

If you haven’t heard of this one yet, you are living under a rock for sure. The secret, is law of attraction, there, now you know it, but there is a lot more to it. You have more potential than you think and there isn’t anything impossible in the world if you believe and work for it. This book explains the law of attraction in detail and how you can use it and live your life just the way you want to. It is applicable in all aspects of your life and is certainly useful when it comes to careers and money.

#4. Never Eat Alone By Keith Ferrazzi

50 bucks that you can’t find a better networker than Ferrazzi, spoiler: you can’t. Keith Ferrazzi is an American businessman, CEO of Ferrazzi Greenlight, Harvard and Yale graduate and an amazing public speaker with a worldwide network. His book will tell you how to network and connect with people in a way that will benefit you and other people and will help you build a network of your own. I personally find this book under-rated and it deserves more recognition.

#5.  #Girlboss By Sophia Amoruso

It all began with an eBay sale for 22 years Sophia, a San Diego resident. She is the founder of vintage clothing site Nasty Gal. She has had her fair share of ups and downs and she still made it to the millionaire’s club. Her company was named the fastest growing company and she did it all by herself and it is all written in the book. Oh, and a one season Netflix Original Show was also made based on her autobiography. But the title of the book is more than enough for making you want to buy it.

#6. “Secrets of Six-Figure Women: Surprising Strategies to Up Your Earnings and Change Your Life” By Barbara Stanny

Uhm, The title suggests it all, doesn’t it? It certainly does sound intriguing and the content is just as fabulous. This also, happens to be an underrated book in my opinion. Author Barbara Stanny makes sure to let you in on every detail and secret of the ladies who run the world with their tacts and business savvy ways.

#7. Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead By Sheryl Sandberg

The COO of Facebook, Sheryl Sandberg has penned this brilliant book about the female clan at work. This book is yet to make it’s imprinted on my brain and is still waiting in my Amazon cart, but as far as I can tell, this book is on every girl boss’s list. Even if you are in the making, this book is going to make a huge difference in your work life and is super impactful, a must read. I must stop myself here, there are loads and loads of wonderful books about hustling and business that I could talk about but this time we are talking about only 7 of them, but rest assured, there will be a second part of this for all the knowledge thirsty book hoarders like myself.
